Education for Peace

Education for peace fosters respect for life, dignity and the integrity of the human being — and for friendship and solidarity among peoples — in the spirit of the Charter of the United Nations.

The General Assembly requested the Secretary-General “to expand the scope for using the services of the University as part of his conflict resolution and peacebuilding effort” and “to develop new concepts and approaches to security through education, training and research” (UNGA Res. 76/73 on UPEACE). On this basis, Dr. Puyana has advanced education for peace across the world, signing agreements with Ministries of Foreign Affairs, diplomatic academies, universities and global institutions on every continent.
